Palestine: Sports for Life (PS4L), is a local Palestinian NGO established in 2011. PS4L is focused on sports for development and responds to developmental needs in the marginalized Palestinian communities through sports and life skills, operating in global context through aligning its developmental activities to the UN-SDGS.

Junior Programme Advisor
Field of Activity:
PS4L works in sports for development and implements its programs in Education, Child & Youth Development, Child Protection and Safeguarding, Economic Infrastructure Development and women & youth Empowerment, Health, Gender, Human Rights, Disability, Environment, Disaster Response and International Cultural Exchange.
One of the programs goals in education is to strengthen vocational education and training possibilities and make them more attractive to Palestinian youth, which PS4L is implementing as a partner with GIZ implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It aims to use sport to help achieve development goals in a range of areas (e.g. promotion of employability) rather than to promote sport. However, as an instrument, sport should be taken seriously and deployed with the appropriate expertise.
For this position, the staff member will also be supporting in implementing the programme as PS4L with GIZ in Palestine
Responsibilities & tasks include but not limited to:
The Junior Programme Advisor will be responsible for the following tasks:
Implementing daily organizational and operational aspects of all issues related to the Sport for development programme (Project Management)
Design, preparation and implementation of capacity development workshops (EN/AR) for e.g. coaches, social workers, counsellors
Design, preparation and implementation of sport events to attract youth to the possibilities of vocational professions and program focus
Development of teaching materials connecting Sport and programs focus (EN/AR)
Development of communication materials and writing articles (EN/AR), e.g. social media outlets
Follow-up and support on the M&E of the programme activities (EN/AR) and with partners
Promotion of the cooperation between Ministries, NGOs, Universities and schools
Writing proposals and reports.
Required qualifications, competences and experience
University degree (BSc degree or equivalent) in social or economic sciences, sport sciences or a related field.
Able to write and support the implementation of relevant and innovative concepts, cooperating with representatives of government institutions, universities and NGOs.
Relevant experience of working in international cooperation or/and in a youth related context is a precondition.
Conceptual and educational skills to implement the programme.
Experiences in administration and translation
Knowledge in the field of sport for development and sport structures are an asset.
Ability to work in teams, good communication and networking skills, flexibility and passion about sport.
Ability to travel within Palestine
Fluent Arabic and Business English skills
