On the 6th of October 2018, PS4L in cooperation with GIZ-BMZ implemented a sports and life skills day in partnership with المرتقى- AlMortaqa Women Organization for 140 female students from two vocational and technical schools in Jerusalem: Technology vocational school and Sakhneen Vocational School. The students along with their instructors enjoyed and attended the educational day in the Shaiekh Jarah Sports Complex. The PS4L trainers ran a program that combines sport sessions, and life skills; Mixing fun with education, our trainers (Shaza Siam, Karam Al Ali, Khaled Khashan, Fadi Abu Kaf, Amani Hamoudeh and Jawad Mushasha) made sure to deliver important life skills and messages that will help the youth in their decision making. Each trainer had an aim and a clear life skill to share with the participants such as communication skills, building self-confidence, teamwork, planning and strategy making, perseverance, and adaption to any situation given. The mentioned skills are essential in building their personalities, making choices in school and developing their employment skills for their future professions. Reflections in each sessions were done by PS4L trainers which showed the students understanding and triggered their thinking in the importance of soft skills in their employment and day to day life. The day also included an exhibition of arts and crafts from women in Jerusalem to inspire the girls in their professions. As well as Dar al-Kalima University College of Arts & Culture who presented the students with the professions offered at the university to continue their education.
