PS4L in the 1st International Experts Workshop “Sports for Development”

PS4L represented by Sameh Masri and Tamara Awartani, took part in the first international experts workshop organized by the DFB and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ),  in Kamen-Kaiserau, Germany from the 24th of May to the 3rd of June, 2016 representing Palestine.

Participants came from all over the world – from Mozambique, Namibia, Ethiopia, Togo, Colombia, Afghanistan, Jordan, Palestine , Brazil and Kenya. Their experiences of everyday work in development projects in these countries they share with German coaches, who in turn would bring a lot of football knowledge and gain new ideas for potential use in a sports project of German development cooperation. The third group of participants form trainers who are active in the German development cooperation in the field of “sport for development” projects.

Participants visited the headquarters of the German Football Federation, the German Olympic committee and the German football museum, which were fruitful days.

Sameh Masri and Tamara Awartani shared their experience in designing and running programs to promote vocational education in Palestine in cooperation with the sports for development (S4D) program implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic cooperation and development – BMZ . Sameh and Tamara also shared their Palestinian story and life experience, while also benefiting from the other coaches development experience in their countries.

The conference was a benefit to all participants, it created a strong network, mixed experiences in Sports for Development and long term friendships in between 11 countries.
