Skills Gap in Palestine
PS4L along with 6 other organizations in the Mediterranean region will be implementing the Skills4Sports program; this program is funded by the European Union and organized by the ENI CBC Med Programme. Currently, PS4L is researching the skills gap in Palestine and is targeting the stakeholders in the sports sectors and NEETs (youth not in education, employment, or training). Skills4Sports aims to increase the employability of NEETs by tackling the skills gap in the sports sector.
This skills gap data collection is a critical step before customizing the curricula and electronic tools needed to develop the skills in NEETs. Developed curricula will be for sports-related professions including both athletics-related ones (coaches, physicians, etc.) and business-oriented ones (merchandising, marketing, administration, event management). Furthermore, a network called “Strategic Alliance for Skills4Sports” will be created and dedicated to key sport stakeholders to reduce the skills mismatch and offer new job opportunities to NEETs. Watch our Skills4Sports press day launch video.
