Palestine: Sports for Life Celebrates the Graduation of 52 Trainers from the English Through Sports Training of Trainers Program
Ramallah, Palestine – 19 July 2026 — Palestine: Sports for Life (PS4L) celebrated the graduation of 52 trainers who successfully completed the English Through Sports Training of Trainers (ToT) Program, marking an important milestone in the organisation’s efforts to strengthen educators’ capacity to use sport and play as innovative tools for English language learning.
The graduation ceremony brought together trainers, educators, and guests in Ramallah and Hebron to celebrate the achievements of the graduates and recognise their commitment throughout the training journey.
The programme equipped participants with new practical approaches to integrate English language learning with sports-based activities, creating more interactive, engaging, and enjoyable learning environments for children and young people.
Reflecting on the impact of the training, Ghassan shared:
“The training added new methods to our curriculum and changed the way we approach teaching. When we measured the impact of the training through an English summer camp using sport, we saw very high levels of student engagement and activity.”
Nida’a highlighted how different the experience was from traditional professional development opportunities:
“The training was very enjoyable and very different from other training sessions. After completing the training and applying what we learned in practice, the students’ response was much better than before. If I have another opportunity to take part in a new training, I will be among the first to participate.”
Menas reflected on the impact of the approach on students’ learning and their own teaching practice:
“The impact of the training was very clear in the students’ engagement, the way they acquired new skills, and their attitudes towards learning English. Personally, I really enjoyed the experience and discovered that I have skills I can use with my students. It showed me that we can teach English through play and move away from traditional teaching methods based mainly on rote learning.”
The graduation ceremony included reflections on the participants’ learning journey, video highlights from the English Through Sports Training of Trainers programme and the English in Action Summer Camp, followed by the presentation of certificates to the graduating trainers.
The graduation of 52 teachers from Ramallah, Jerusalem, Hebron and Gaza represents an important step towards building a network of skilled educators who can combine sport, play, and education to create meaningful and inclusive learning opportunities for children and young people.
Through the English Through Sports program, Palestine: Sports for Life continues to promote innovative, child-centred approaches that make learning more engaging while empowering educators with practical tools to support the development of children and young people.
