Four Months of Building Resilience Through Running and Sport
Over four months, the Building Palestinian Girls' and Young Women's Resilience through Running and Peace Through Sports program brought girls and women together through running, yoga, life skills, and peacebuilding activities.
Throughout the program, 160 girls and women participated in activities that created safe spaces to move, connect, learn, and build confidence across different communities.
In addition, four community events engaged a further 270 participants, extending the program’s activities and messages to wider communities and creating more opportunities for girls and women to come together through sport.
From running and yoga to life skills and peacebuilding, the program used sport to strengthen connections, build confidence, and support the personal and social development of girls and women.
The program was implemented with the support of Free to Run, the Olympic Council of Asia, and Generations For Peace, whose partnership helped create meaningful opportunities for girls and women to participate in sport, connect with their communities, and develop new skills.
As the program comes to an end, the experience and connections built through these activities remain a meaningful part of the participants’ journey, highlighting the role of sport in creating opportunities for girls and women to thrive.
