Amal’s Journey to Confidence

Amal, a first-grade student, began her educational journey holding tightly to her mother’s hand. New faces, new voices, and a new classroom felt overwhelming, making her hesitant to join any activity.

With time, and through the support of educational activities and psychosocial programs, Amal began observing her classmates play and participate. Encouraged by their engagement, she took small steps—joining once, stepping back, and trying again. Each step brought her closer to confidence.

Slowly, Amal started interacting with her peers, forming friendships, and feeling a sense of belonging in the classroom. Eventually, she participated independently, without the presence of her mother, smiling and engaging fully in learning and play.

Amal’s journey shows the powerful impact of consistent psychosocial support and educational engagement. It reminds us that even the smallest steps can lead to confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.
